ALOHA, OREGON WOMEN'S T-SHIRT

Pronounced “Ah-lowwa” rather than the more familiar Hawaiian “Ah-lo-ha”, locals aren’t sure how their town came to be named. Was it named by former railroad worker Robert Caples, or by the town’s first postmaster in 1912 in remembrance of a favorite spot on Lake Winnebago? Neither, says ex-postmaster Frithjof G. Tollefsen, who claims the singing of Hawaiian Queen Liliuokalani’s most famous song Aloha ‘Oe (Farewell To Thee) during a party inspired the town moniker.
