Candy & wine. Sounds pretty sweet. You’ll find both in Cashmere, Washington, the geographical center of the state. The area features over 30 wineries producing everything from Riesling to Gewurztraminer, Cabernets and more. Cashmere is also the home of the world famous fruit-and-nut confection Aplets & Cotlets. With all that wine and sugar, maybe we shouldn’t be surprised they changed the name of the town from Mission to Cashmere, in honor of Kashmir, India. Huh? Can you say ‘sugar high’? You’ll find free samples at the Liberty Orchards gift shop in Cashmere @ 47°31′10″ North, 120°28′8″ West. Find your place – find yourself.
