Clever, Missouri

Established in the 1800s and the place of the pivotal Civil War Battle of Dug Springs in 1861, Clever did quite well for itself while the railroad ran by the town. As a booming town, Clever sported a movie theater and hotel while the railroad ran by. But when the trains stopped coming, most folks just got up and moved out to the bigger, flashier towns like Nixa and Republic. This left the last of the Cleverites alone with a quiet and peaceful town.
