This small community in Pike County, Arkansas, is a true delight. Rumor has it that landowner W.H. Kirkham named the place because he really enjoyed his surroundings. One current day superstar does find the place enchanting. Country Music Hall of Famer Glen Campbell currently lives in this mirthful hamlet of about 300 people, and was born one town over in Billstown (which really is too small for the map). Though small on population, Delight is big on natural resources. Nearby Narrows Dam is the place in Arkansas to hunt deer and turkeys. Just past that, Daisy State Park sits on the shores of Lake Greeson which is full of bass, stripers and catfish. But perhaps the biggest pleasure may be found at the aptly-named Crater of Diamonds State Park, where you can actually prospect for raw diamonds, the only place in North America where that’s permitted.
